RJD Calls for Action on Liberhan Report

November 29, 2009 Visionmp.com news service

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Sunday said all 68 people, including 11 bureaucrats, indicted by the Liberhan Commission for demolition of Babri Masjid and spreading communal hatred should be brought to justice, say media reports.

Speaking to journalists in Patna, RJD legislature party leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan and party general secretary Ram Kirpal Yadav said that “people will lose faith in the rule of law,” if action is not initiated against those named in the report.

The RJD demanded that the Centre should pass the Communal Violence (Prevention, Control and Rehabilitation of Victims) Bill during the current or in the next session of Parliament.

Election Commission should disqualify a person found guilty of misusing religion for political gains and the party to which he belonged should be banned, they said.
