Training guns at Shiv Sena during election campaign, MNS supremo Raj Thackeray has said that the saffron party is more interested in “Marathi votes” than “Marathi manoos”.

In an election rally on Tuesday night, he said that Shiv Sena had stopped putting up fight for rights of Marathi people and that now MNS was fighting for the cause of sons of soil who are facing problems because of migrants from other states.

Update

Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray today described MNS chief Raj Thackeray as the new Mohammad Ali Jinnah and said his estranged nephew was intent on dividing Marathi people. "The British incited Jinnah and forced him to divide India. Now, a new Jinnah at home is dividing Marathi people," Thackeray said in an editorial in party mouthpiece Saamana.

“Both Congress-NCP and Sena-BJP alliance had betrayed the voters and should be kept away from power in the ensuing Assembly Elections,” he said.

About the BJP-Shiv Sena’s charge of accusing him of helping Congress-NCP, Raj said that it was a cover up for saffron combine’s own failure.

Exhorting the crowd to react against the rulers’ biased attitude towards locals’ issue through the ballot box, Thackeray reiterated that Shiv Sena-BJP alliance and Congress-NCP coalition were equally dishonest.

Without naming Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, Raj also said that he would respond to the statements made about MNS at a proper time.

Earlier, Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi told reporters that MNS factor would prove to be “inconsequential” in the elections as the saffron alliance was confident of securing a majority in the state Assembly Polls, scheduled to be held on October 13.
