Prime Minister’s invitation to Pak leaders

SRINAGAR: On Saturday Union Minister Farooq Abdullah said, “I hope that the Pakistani leaders will understand the feelings and sentiment behind the Prime Minister’s invitation and come to watch the semi final at Mohali,” Abdullah, who is also president Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association, told reporters and expressed his hope for their arrival.

PM of India has invited Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to watch the semifinal on Wednesday between India and Pakistan next week.

Abdullah said the invitation to the cricket match was not an excuse but a good thinking as the leaders will “get an opportunity to talk and pave way for improvement in relations between the two countries,” said In response to a question here.

He also said, “We hope that the game is good and the two sides play well. A new chapter will be added to the India-Pakistan story.”
