Preliminary Probe in Kabul Blast Shows Taliban-ISI-Haqqani Link

Preliminary probe in yesterday’s successive blasts in Afghani capital of Kapul has shown ISI-Taliban hand, with Sirajuddin Haqqani faction of Taliban being behind the attack, reported NDTV.

Zabiullah Mujahid, who had claimed the responsibility for blasts, is known as Haqqani spokesman and also Haqqani is known to be close to Pakistan’s ISI, said report.

It should be mentioned that Haqqani’s network was also behind the earlier two attacks on Indian Embassy in Kabul.

Six Indians died in yesterday’s blasts, including two army officials.

Report said quoting unnamed intelligence sources that the Noor Guest House, where the Indian mission was staying was targeted. The Indian army medical team – seven army officers and five paramedics were housed there.

In the meantime, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh requested Afghan President Hamid Karzai to make sure that Indians receive full protection in Afghanistan.

Prime Minister made the request when Karzai phone him to express condolence on the loss of Indian nationals in the attacks.

Karzai promised ‘full investigation’ into the incident, PM’s media adviser Harish Khare said.
