Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh Monday arrives in Jammu and Kashmir on a two day visit amid tight security even as separatists called for a bandh to coincide with the tour, reported NDTV.

The PM will review developmental initiatives in the state and also preside over a convocation ceremony as part of the visit.

The visit had raised hopes that the PM would reach out to the separatists and bring them back to the negotiating table, J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Saturday said talks were not a part of the agenda.

Meanwhile Hurriyat leader Abdul Gani Bhat said the separatists were in no hurry for a dialogue and called for direct talks with the PM.
