Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has ended the dharna in connection with the murder of a Congress worker at Rajnagar seat in Chhatarpur district. He said, the administration has assured action. We are still with the family. If no action is taken then the strike can be reconsidered.

In fact, Salman Khan, the associate of Congress MLA Vikram Singh Natiraja from Rajnagar seat, was crushed to death by a car on the day of voting (17 November). After this, the police registered a case of murder against 20 people including BJP candidate Arvind Pateria. At present, all the accused are absconding.

MP and former CM Digvijay Singh had reached Khajuraho at the house of deceased Salman on Saturday 18th November. They were sitting on strike in Khajuraho police station premises for 21 hours. Here he consoled the family members. After this, they reached the police station and started the protest. They are demanding arrest of the accused in the murder of councilor Salman Khan. The body was kept in a deep freezer to prevent it from decomposing and spreading foul smell during the protest. After assurance from the administration, the family has agreed for the cremation.

Accused BJP candidate Arvind Pateria presented his side by releasing a video on social media. Narrating the entire incident, he said that bad politics is being done in Rajnagar assembly constituency. I am being implicated in a false case. Patria has blamed the Congressmen in this matter.

Kamal Nath wrote on the social media platform ‘X’ – After all, who is saving the murderers and on whose instructions are the police and administration sitting in silence? I want to tell the Congress workers that the entire party stands behind each and every worker. We will unite and fight against this atrocities and get justice. Those who stand with injustice will also have to suffer its consequences.

Many leaders and workers including Digvijay, his wife Amrita, Chhatarpur Congress candidate Alok Chaturvedi, Maharajpur Congress candidate Neeraj Dixit and Rajnagar Congress candidate Vikram Singh Natiraja were present. Everyone slept at night in a tent set up in front of the police station, sharing beds with their supporters. Earlier, Digvijay said that he will provide justice to Salman’s family.

Digvijay Singh, who was protesting at the police station, said that it has been 5 hours since I was sitting at the house of the deceased. When the police did not take any action, I was forced to come and sit in front of the police station. If arrests are not made, I will be forced to call workers from across the state here.

Earlier, Digvijay Singh said, ‘Why have those against whom FIR for murder been registered not been arrested yet? Had it been anyone else, their houses would have been demolished by now. I was with the victim’s family yesterday, I am today and will remain so in future also. First of all, an arrest should be made in the case and a member of the victim’s family should be given a government job. Digvijay Singh also talked about adopting the family of the deceased.

Rajnagar police station in-charge Sandeep Khare says that the police is continuously raiding to arrest the accused. None of the accused are at home or at their other locations. The police is continuously searching for the accused.

BJP state president Vishnu Dutt Sharma said that there was a general clash. Kamal Nath ji himself is saying that no such incident has happened. Even after that an FIR was registered against the BJP candidate. There were 2 hours left for voting, this was done only to influence the election. We have complained to the Election Commission and the police administration.

On the murder of Congress worker Salman and the strike by Digvijay Singh, Kamal Nath has said that should we accept that there is no rule of law in Madhya Pradesh? He wrote, ‘I want to tell the Congress workers that the entire party stands behind each and every worker. Any oppression against any worker is an attack on the entire party. We will unite and fight against this atrocities and get justice. Those who stand with injustice will also have to suffer its consequences.
