Pravin Mahajan Hospitalized after Brain Haemorrhage, in Critical Condition
Following a brain haemorrahage, Praveen Mahajan, who is serving a lifer for the murder of his brother and BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, has been hospitalized in Thane, and his condition is ‘very critical’, said doctors attending him.
Pravin, who was presently out on a 14-day parole, complained of fatigue and severe headache yesterday night and was subsequently admitted to the Jupiter Hospital.
“Pravin has suffered an extensive pontine haemorrhage (brain haemorrhage) and is currently on a life support system. His condition is very critical and he is deeply unconscious,” a health bulletin released by the hospital in Thane said.
Aged 50, Pravin was found guilty of shooting his brother in Mumbai on April 22, 2006. Pramod succumbed to bullet injuries 12 days later.
He was awarded life imprisonment by a Mumbai court in December 2007 and lodged at the Nashik Central Jail. He was released on parole on November 27 reportedly on medical grounds.
