One Militant Killed in Gunbattle in Sopore

One militant has been killed in a gunbattle with security forces in Sopore town of north Kashmir.

According to reports, a gunbattle took place between militants and security forces in Sopore on Saturday morning in which one militant was killed.

Following a specific information about presence of militants, police along with the Army launched an operation to drive them out from Chinkipora, 55 kms from Srinagar, said police.

After security forces encircled the area, militants who were hiding in a house, opened fire which was retaliated by the security forces.

Police said that there was no report of any casualty from either side.
