Maharashtra unit of BJP has denied making any offer to senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar, who was sidelined for the rank of deputy chief minister.

“There is no offer from our side,” state BJP president Nitin Gadkari told reporters in Mumbai.

He was responding to remarks by Ajit Pawar published in a leading newspaper that Sena-BJP leaders offered him the chief minister’s ramk if he broke away from the NCP.

Referring to reports that NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s nephew was in touch with some leaders of the saffron camp, whose bid to wrest power from Congress-NCP alliance has been shattered, Gadkari said, “I am not aware who exactly met him.”

Sena leader Sanjay Raut had met Sharad Pawar in Delhi yesterday.
