Nitish Smashes Flighted Congress Delivery

With the democracy ambling along toward the penultimate-leg of the five-phase polls to the 15th Lok Sabha, the electoral battle is fast turning into a last ball contest, definitely not for the weak at heart.

With the poll game still in its middle overs, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday smashed a flighted Congress delivery over and beyond the fence while sticking to his overnight stance saying, he would continue to bat for the NDA.

Bowling a typical chinaman this morning, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi was all praise for the way the JD(U) leader’s innings, as chief minister, had matured.

On a spinning wicket, Kumar a seasoned willow wielder for the BJP-led alliance, refused to be taken in by the spinning ball and converted it into a full toss, smashing it to the fence toward the dressing room to earn relieved applause from NDA team mates.

Reacting to the young Congress general secretary’s words of praise, Kumar said: “I am thankful to him (Rahul Gandhi) and nothing more,” and iterated that he was working hard for an NDA victory this season.
