NCP Leader Invites Amitabh for Inauguration

Not sharing ally Congress party’s antipathy towards Hindi film actor Amitabh Bachchan, NCP leader and Maharashtra Rural Development Minister Jayant Patil has invited the actor for a cultural function and to inaugurate a theatre in his home constituency Sangli, media reports said.
Despite the Sea Link inauguration controversy and shrilly objection from Congress leaders, Patil reiterated his invitation, reports said.
He said that he wanted Amitabh to come and added, “We have invited him again after he asked for feedback on his blog.”
However, he was cautious enough and said that the Congress should not read anything into this, reports said.
The minister clarified that his invitation to Bachchan had nothing to do with political controversy, said reports.
“Who else will we call for an artistic function but an artist?” he asked.
