Returned from abroad two days back, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi has tested positive for H1N1 Influenza, that is, swine flu, said a doctor attending on him.

After Modi showed symptoms of cough, cold and fever on Thursday, his samples were taken for test on Thursday, said Atul Patel, one of the four doctors team looking after the chief minister.

The doctor said that the report came on Friday morning and that Modi had insisted on the H1N1 test.

Modi, who returned from Russia on Wednesday, will be kept in isolation for seven days at his residence, where a team of doctors are attending on him.

All his public functions have been cancelled.

“There is no cause for any concern regarding the health of the Chief minister and he is responding to treatment,” Modi’s doctor said.
