Govt against child marriages
BHOPAL: The government will firm on preventing child marriages.
The government has issued strict orders to district collectors in a circular to prevent child marriages specially on occasions like Akshaya Tritiya and Akha Teej on April 24.
The government has instructed the collectors that they should make efforts in their respective districts to ensure that no child marriage takes place in the same way as they done last year.
They can also seek assistance of the influential persons and groups who play important role organizing mass marriages for the purpose.
The instructions were also given to them to give necessary directives to their sub-ordinate staff in connection with Child Marriage Prevention Campaign.
The local media can also be used by them for the purpose. They can also tell peoples about the ill effects of child marriages.
The phone number of call center will be widely publicized so that anyone can easily inform about a child marriage over phone.
