Maoists Attack Village in Bihar, 11 Killed

Nearly 11 persons have been killed in a Maoist attack on a village in the eastern Bihar, reported BBC.
Officials said that over 100 Maoists attacked Phulwaria Korasi village in Jamui district early in the morning, said report.
According to report, rebels blasted a house with explosives, set ablaze about 30 mud huts with thatched roofs and opened fire at the villagers.
Report said that attackers reached the village, situated some 200 km from Patna, after midnight.
They went around the village, setting homes on fire and shooting people, said report.
Village is located only three km from a police camp, but policeman did not turn there for hours, alleged residents of the village, according to report.
There are reports that villagers had killed eight Maoists about a fortnight ago and Thursday’s attack was believed to be a revenge by rebels, said report.
Local officials said the toll was expected to go up as several people were still unaccounted for, said report.
Some reports said quoting officials that a few villagers were abducted by Maoists.
On Monday, the Maoists attacked a camp of paramilitary forces in the neighbouring West Bengal state, killing 24 troops.
Nearly 50 rebels on motorcycles encircled the camp of the Eastern Frontier Rifles (ERF) at Silda village.
The state government has ordered an inquiry into the killings.
