Maoists Abduct Three Officials in Jharkhand

Three officials including one Additional District Magistrate and an executive engineer have been abducted by Maoists in Jharkhand, said media reports.

According to report, the three were kidnapped from Manika police station area of Latehar district in the state on Saturday.

In the meantime, rebels attacked the security forces in the forests in Lalgarh area in neighbouring West Bengal, said reports.

A group of armed Maoists blew up landmines and opened fire at security forces when latter raided a rebel camp in the West Midnapore district on Satuday in search of the Maoist-backed People’s Committee Against Police Atrocities (PCAPA) leader Asit Mahato.
