Maoist released Majhi and Krishna

BHUBANESWAR: On Wednesday Maoist freed the abducted Malkangiri collector R V Krishna and junior engineer Pabitra Majhi after holding him hostage for seven days.
Reports said Krishna is expected to be back soon.

Interlocutor Prof G Hargopal said, “The process has already started and Malkangiri collector R V Krishna and junior engineer Pabitra Majhi will return by tomorrow.”

On Tuesday evening he stated that the duo would be back within 48 hours, informing Krishna and Majhi were safe.

Varavara Rao, expressed regret who had claimed that the hostages were handed over to four sarpanches last night. Some modifications were made in the process of freeing the duo.

The Naxal ideologue said. “I would like to tender my apologies for having stated yesterday that they had been released.”

“However, the process for their return is underway and both will be back shortly,” he said.

A 2005 batch IAS officer Krishna and Majhi had been abducted by Maoists from Chitrakonda area of Malkangiri district on 16th of February.
