BHOPAL: The state BJP slammed Congress president Rahul Gandhi for referring to JeM chief as ‘Masood Azharji’ and said that Congress is glorifying terrorists, but disrespecting martyrs and soldiers of the country.
In a tweet, BJP national vice-president Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “Rahul Gandhi is speaking the language of Digvijaya Singh. People of the country will never forget that Congress leaders had referred to terrorists as ji”.
The saffron party also launched a social contact drive against Congress and Rahul Gandhi in this regard. Huzur MLA Rameshwar Sharma said that Congress and terrorists belong to the same family, hence Congress president is glorifying and giving respect to a terrorist leader. “Rahul Gandhi and Digvijaya Singh live in India, but sing paens for Pakistan. They had never given such respect to martyrs and brave soldiers of our country, but are busy giving respect to terrorists. Had Mahatma Gandhi been alive, he would have condemned both the leaders”, said Sharma.
Addressing a meeting of Congress workers in Delhi, Rahul had attacked the BJP saying, “You would recall in their previous government, the current National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval went in an aircraft with Masood Azharji and handed him over to Pakistan in Kandhar.”
After the statement, BJP reacted sharply saying, “Earlier it was leaders like Digvijaya Singh who called Osama Bin Laden as “Osamaji” and Hafiz Saeed as “Saheb”. Now they are saying “Masood Azharji”. What is happening to Congress party?”
