Lata Mangeshkar never going to give up singing

MUMBAI: Lata Mangeshkar the singing legend said, “I am never going to give up singing. It has always remained the most important part of my life. There cannot be a day when I will say that ‘No! I am not going to sing anymore’. I will be recording soon.”
Although she is recording more devotional songs these days, her playback singing assignments will continue as usual. “I have recorded a lot of devotional songs lately. I will also continue to sing for films. I want to continue doing some more good work,” Mangshkar added.
The singer who considers her work as worship, says that she was hurt when she heard the rumour that she was going to give up singing. “I don’t know who’s spreading this rumour about me that I am retiring. Don’t trust these words or these people. Whoever is doing this, they are not telling you the correct information.
Lata said, I want to clarify that there’s no question of me retiring and I am going to continue singing the way I was doing,” says the 81-year-old singer who’s also the recipient of Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award.
Clarifying about her health she said, “I am doing fine and whatever you have heard about are just regular and ordinary stuff. There’s nothing to worry about me and I want to continue doing some good work by the grace of God.”
