Landlord Accused of Raping Brazilian Tenant Arrested

For allegedly raping his Brazilian tenant, a landlord in New Delhi’s Greater Kailash area has been taken into custody, said media reports.
A 27-year-old Brazilian woman, studying in a media institute, has accused her landlord of raping her twice after spiking her coffee.
The woman yesterday’s lodged her complaint and a medical examination confirmed the rape.
In the complaint, she alleged that her landlord came to meet her on June 20 and offered coffee laced with sedatives, after taking which she fell unconscious and was raped, reports said.
She also alleged that she was raped again the next day under similar circumstances, said reports.
Again on June 27, when the landlord tried to rape her, she resisted and approached the police, reports said.
The accused will be produced in court later in the day. The Delhi Police have informed the Brazilian embassy to provide the woman consular help.
The woman came to India on June 7 and shifted to the accommodation in Greater Kailash on June 19.
