International Level Central University to Be Set up in MP

Madhya Pradesh government has set April 7 as deadline for forwarding details about the identification of land for an international level central university in the state, said an official release.
The centre proposed setting up the university in the state, for which 700 acre land is required.
Higher Education Minister Laxmikant Sharma convened a meeting in connection with identification of the land today and set April 7 as deadline for forwarding details about it to the Centre so that the central team could study it and process for the establishment of the proposed varsity was set into motion, release said.
According to release, state government has identified 492 acre land at Seelkheri village of Sehore district on Doraha-Ahmadpur-Charnal road, which joins with Bhopal-Rajgarh road.
The central government sought land for the administrative office of the proposed university in Bhopal district, for which 200 acre was been identified in Acharpura village.
Bhopal division commissioner has been instructed to inspect the site and send a proposal to the Union government immediately, release said.
Those present at the meeting included Principal Secretary Higher Education Jaideep Govind, Commissioner Higher Education Ashish Upadhyaya, Revenue Secretary Smt Seema Sharma, Commissioner Bhopal Division Pukhraj Maroo, Bhopal Collector Sheo Shekhar Shukla and senior education department and administrative officers of Sehore district.
Sharma said that establishment of a central university is utmost important from the point of view of Madhya Pradesh, said release.
