India has sought a report from its High Commission in Australia in the wake of another attack on an Indian cabbie in Melbourne, reported IANS.

“I have just heard the news. I have sought a report from the Indian High Commission,” External Affairs Minister SM Krishna was quoted as saying while talking to reporters in New Delhi.

Again, he reiterated that non-stop attacks could ‘affect bilateral ties’.

A 25-year-old Indian taxi driver was assaulted on Saturday in Melbourne and police today released pictures of a couple suspected to be behind it.

However, police maintained that it didn’t find any evidence to prove if the attack was racially-motivated.

In recent weeks, there a string of attacks on Indians was reported with taxi drivers being targeted.
