A Jammat-ud-Dawa (JuD) spokesperson has said that India has ‘unjustifiably’ named Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders Hafiz Saeed and Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi in the Mumbai terror attack case, reported IANS.

A special court in Mumbai on Monday pronounced the lone surviving attacker Amir Ajmal Kasab guilty and acquitted two Indians Fahim Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed, besides finding that 20 other Pakistanis, including Lakhvi, Saeed and Abu Hamza, were involved in the attacks.

“Right after the Mumbai attacks, Saeed categorically denied any involvement of his organisation in a press conference held the next day,” JD spokesperson Yahya Mujahid was quoted as saying:

He said the attorney general of Pakistan, advocate general of Punjab and other government law officials had put forth all evidence before the Lahore High Court (LHC) on the matter, report said.

“After careful review and diligent hearings, a full bench of the LHC decided that all the accusations against Saeed were baseless,” Daily Times quoted him as saying.

The Jamaat-ud-Dawa is a front of the Pakistan-based LeT.
