Hearing a case against Bofors gun deal accused Ottavio Quattrocchi, a Delhi court has adjourned the proceedings of the trial till September 8, 2009.

Advocate Ajay Agrawal, hours after Interpol took Quattrochi off its list, had moved the court requesting the court to stay the operation of any withdrawal of red corner notice against Quattrocchi

According to reports, the hearing was adjourned by the court after CBI presented its status report regarding revoking of red corner notice against Quattrocchi in multi-crores Bofors scam. CBI sought two months to consider its options.

Chief metropolitan magistrate Kaveri Baweja fixed the next date of hearing on Sep 8.

PP Malhotra, CBI counsel additional solicitor general, argued that due to many reasons all the efforts to extradite Quattrocchi from Argentina have failed and it did not seem likey in the near future.

Malhotra, however, assured the court that the CBI was keeping all options open and sought two months time to consider them.

The CBI also informed the court that the red corner notice was revoked by the agency on Nov 25, 2008.
