Hearing of defamation case against Congress leader is on 12 Dec

RANCHI: The court of first class judicial magistrate Amit Shekhar recorded the statement on Monday of one Ashish Kumar Singh in the case of defamation filed against All India Congress Committee ( AICC) general secretary Rahul Gandhi.

Singh filed a defamation case against the Congress leader for equating Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with the banned outfit Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) during a meeting in Bhopal, last month.

The case was filed in the court of chief judicial magistrate here. The case was later transferred for hearing to the court of judicial magistrate.

The court fixed December 12 as the next date of hearing, after recording the statement of the complainant.

The court took almost an hour to record the 10-page statement of Singh.The court tried to know all the intention of the complainant behind filing the defamation case and asked all types of question on Rahul Gandhi, RSS and SIMI and their activities.
