Gujarat Police Maintaining Vigil over Places Visited by Headley Aide

Following German Bakery Blast in Pune, Gujarat police is keeping close vigil at all the places in the state visited by suspected Lashkar operative David Coleman Headley’s accomplice, said media reports.
In response to a query about steps being taking by the state police in the wake of Pune incident, DGP SS Khandwawala was quoted as saying: “All necessary steps have been taken to ensure security of the people statewide.”
Khandwawala said that the police is keeping watch over the places, which Tahawwur Hussain Rana and his wife Samraz Akhtarhad had visited, said reports.
“We are keeping a tab on all places which Headley’s aide (Rana) may have visited and are tracking activities there,” he was quoted as saying.
Khandwawala said that following the nation-wide alert after the Pune blast, security has been beefed up in Gujarat. As a result, a large cache of explosives were seized from Vapi and Surendranagar districts, he added.
