Government to share half of interest on home loans to poor
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave possession of pucca houses to the urban poor by handing over keys of houses to them in 12 Number area here today. Shri Chouhan announced to name the residential complex after late Shri Kushabhau Thakre. The Chief Minister said that the government will bear 5 percent on interest on loan taken by beneficiaries to who have obtained loan at 10 percent interest rate to pay their share of cost of house. Due to it, their monthly loan installment will come down to Rs. 900 from Rs. 1200. He said that donors will also be included in the list of beneficiaries. No poor person will be without roof. He also announced to open primary and middle schools in the complex.
Directing for early completion of under construction houses, Shri Chouhan said that strict action will be taken against the contractors who delay the work. He directed to ensure sanitation and constitution of residents association for better management of the complex. The association will work in tandem with the government. He said that strict action will be taken against Jhuggi mafia. Shri Chouhan said that 50 thousand houses for the urban poor will be constructed at Bhopal and 5 lakh in the state. Patta of land will be given to the urban poor who are residing on a land possessed by for over a year
