Gill Lauds MP Govt for Increase in Sports Budget

Union Sports Minister MS Gill has lauded state government for its ten-fold increase in the sports budget, asking other states to emulate the same.

While inaugurating the newly constructed Madhav Sports Complex at Shivpuri, he said: “Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country that has made adequate provision in its budget for sports promotion and developing necessary infrastructure for it.”

“My ministry will extend all possible assistance for the promotion of sports in the region,” he added.

Together with State Minister for Commerce and Industry Jyotiraditya Scindia, Gill laid the foundation stone of ‘Tribal Residential Scheme’ for the settlement of Sahariya tribe.

Under the scheme 615 houses in 26 villages will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 4.59 crore.
