Ensure effective management of tahsil headquarters for better revenue facilities

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the state government is committed to providing better revenue administration and facilities to common people. He exhorted revenue officers to ensure effective management of tahsil headquarters so that common people can get better revenue services and facilities. Shri Chouhan was addressing a provincial convention of Madhya Pradesh Revenue Officers Association here today. On the occasion, a workshop on “Public Orientation of Revenue Administration” was also held.

On the association’s memorandum and questions raised about revenue officers’ cadre, the Chief Minister directed Principal Secretary Shri Manoj Shrivastava to hold discussions with the association and give suggestions to the government. Describing revenue officers as axis of administration and face of state government, the Chief Minister said that revenue staff gives praiseworthy cooperation to all important works of the state government. Lauding performance of revenue officers sent for relief and rescue operations in Uttarakhand from Madhya Pradesh, Shri Chouhan said that revenue officers discharge challenging duties with efficiency and skill. Referring to distribution of relief, he said that Rs. 2700 crore relief was distributed for the first time in the state. It could not have been possible without assistance of revenue staff.

The Chief Minister urged to give suggestions regarding simplification of revenue rules from administrative point of view and make suitable changes in them in tune with current circumstances. Shri Chouhan said that today Madhya Pradesh is being counted among pioneering states in the country. State’s economic growth rate has been in double digits for the last 7 years. Agriculture growth rate has reached 24.99 percent. Madhya Pradesh will be the frontline state soon with cooperation of all.

A memento was presented to the Chief Minister on the occasion. The Chief Minister released association’s souvenir and a book containing experiences of teams of Revenue Department in Uttarakhand. The book has been compiled, association’s President Shri P.S. Tripathi, other office-bearers and members were present on the occasion.
