Free medicines and treatment to pregnant women: Ghulam Nabi Azad

NEW DELHI: The Union Health Ministry in India has announced a number of major health initiatives including providing free healthcare to pregnant women as well as financial assistance to cancer patients.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare revealed pregnant women will receive free service in government hospitals including free drugs and free transportation service to the hospitals and back to their homes.

It is expected this will reduce to infant mortality rate and death of pregnant women in India.
