Four Maoists Supporters Planning to Disrupt World Tamil Conference Arrested

Four suspected Maoists supporters, who were planning to disrupt the ongoing World Tamil Classical Language Conference at Coimbatore, has been taken into custody from a village situated close to the town, said media reports citing police.

According to reports, after receiving a tip-off a police team arrested the four persons from Hale village, some seven kms from Coimbatore.

Of the four arrested persons, one is an activist of People’s Democratic Youth League (PDYL), another district-in-charge of Anti Imperialists Movement (AIM) and the other two, workers of the outfits, reports said.

Police said that all of them have been remanded to 15 days judicial custody, said reports.
