First Arrest in Ruchika Case

Haryana Police assisted by their counterparts from Maharashtra have arrested Gajinder Singh from Baner Road area of Pune in connection with a 1993 auto theft case in which Ashu Girhotra, brother of molestation victim Ruchika, was implicated.

Singh, a proclaimed offender in the case had been on the run since 1997 and used to used to operate a dhaba in the area, say media reports.

According to IBN, the arrest has been made to question Singh on why he named Ashu Girhotra as an accomplice in the case.

The arrest was made on late saturday night. Gajendra will be brought to Panchkula from Pune, it added.
