The fire, which has been raging in an IOC depot near Jaipur for seven days will abate by today evening, said officials.

“The fire will probably die down completely by tomorrow morning,” Ishwar Lal Jat, Chief Fire Officer said.

A major fire which broke out Thursday last had engulfed elevent IOC fuel tanks and the fire is still raging in one tank.

Jha said that some fuel is still left in the tank and fire may dwindle by this evening if its lids break due to pressures as happened in another fuel tank last night.

Meanwhile, traffic, in the radius of 500 metres of the site, remained closed as a safety measure, and the situation will be reviewed in the evening, a district administration official said.
