Doctors still to Decide on Koda’s Release

Former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, who is facing corruption charges for alleged in involvement in hawala transactions and illegal investment worth hundreds of crores repress, will not be discharged from hospital today, for he had a stomach upset.

The Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax Department are investigating money laundering charges against him and will arrest him as soon as he is discharged from the hospital.

Geeta Koda, wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, has claimed that he is innocent. "I know Koda is totally innocent and he has no involvement in the alleged scam. Nothing has been recovered from our house and I have full faith on judiciary," Geeta told a local channel when asked about IT raids at their house last week.

“The doctors will take a decision tomorrow or the day after about his discharge,” Public Relations officer of the Abdur Razzak Weavers Memorial Hospital, Javed Akhtar said.

It may be mentioned that following IT raids on his residence in connection with alleged hawala transactions and illegal investments, Koda got himself admitted to the hospital on complaints of stomach pain.

The Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax department have instructed the hospital to inform them before his discharge.

A close aide of Koda, Vikas Sinha, was arrested in connection with the case yesterday.
