AICC general secretary and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh has refused to comment on allegations of Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh that Naxalism problem was more serious during his tenure as CM of undivided Madhya Pradesh, indicating that it was not the case, said media reports.

Talking to reporters in Raghogarh after concluding his three-day visit to Guna district, Singh said that he would comment on Raman Singh’s article only after reading it, reports said.

He stressed that during his regime as CM of undivided Madhya Pradesh, the problem of Naxalism was not as severe as it is today, said reports.

In an article, Raman Singh has charged that naxalism spread in Bastar when the Congress leader was Chief Minister and called him for an open debate on the issue.

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also leveled similar charges against Digvijay Singh.
