Curfew Reimposed in Tense China Town

Authorities have announced that a night-time curfew has been reimposed in the western Chinese city of Urumqi.

Earlier, mosques in the city were ordered to remain closed for Friday prayers – but at least two opened at the request of crowds of Muslim Uighurs.

According to reports that there were one-off protests after Friday prayers and police were seen hitting demonstrators.
