Congress-NCP Seal Goa Deal

Weeks after the two outfits inked a pre-poll deal in Maharashtra, the Congress and the NCP on Tuesday finalized a similar alliance in Goa, media reports suggest that the UPA constituents are now contemplating to take their alliance into the BJP stronghold of Gujarat.

Informing reporters of the development NCP leader DP Tripathi said that the two parties will contest one each of the two parliamentary segments in the coastal state.

Jitendra Deshprabhu would contest the North Goa seat for the NCP while the Congress has already named Francisco Sardinha as its South Goa candidate, he said.
