Parents Bringing Gurshan Channa’s Body Back Home

The remains of three-year-old Gurshan Singh Channa, who was found dead near Melbourne airport on March 4 are being brought back to the country by his parents, say reports.

The body is expected to arrive sometime on Sunday.

Gurshan’s body was found dumped by the side of the road some six hours after he went missing from home while his mother was in the shower.

Though, the cause of death has not been revealed Australian authorities have charged an Indian man – Gursewak Dhillon (23) – with manslaughter by criminal negligence.

Dhillon, who was a housemate of the Channas, is in custody.

Speaking at a memorial service in Melbourne on Saturday, Gurshan’s mother Harpreet Kaur Channa said: “This is a very tragic moment for all of us, and only time might heal this tragedy,” she told about 35 mourners.

“We came to Australia for a better family life with our lovely young bubbly son Gurshan, but destiny had something else in mind and now we are going back without Gurshan’s smile.”
