White Revolution in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal : The era of white revolution is flourishing in Madhya Pradesh since last 8 years. White revolution means continous increase in the production of milk. In year 2004, the annual milk production was 5388 M. ton. In year 2012 it increased to 8149 M. ton. In the past eight year the growth rate of milk production is 5.13 percent annually, which is noteworthy. During the year 2001-2004, the annual growth rate was about 4.2 percent. Despite 4461 M. tons in year 2001, milk production has been increased to only 5338 M. ton in the year 2004.

The daily conservation of milk in cooperative societies in year 2001 was 2 lakh 94 thousand 300 kilograms. In duration of 3 years it merely increased to 2 lakh 94 thousand 465 kilograms in year 2004. Since 2004-2012, the annual growth rate of milk conservation has been 11.85 percent. As many as 8 years before 2 lakh 94 thousand 465 kilograms of milk had been conserved daily which is being increased to 7 lakh 21 thousand kilogram in year 2012. Despite year 2011, milk conserved daily in the year 2012 is 1 lakh 35 thousand 913 kilogram.

There were 2712 milk cooperative societies in year 2001 which increased to 3032 in the year 2004. In 2011 these were 4116 in numbers which increased to 4837 in the year 2012. The growth rate of cooperative societies from year 2004-2012 is been 6 percent. The increase during these 8 years clearly indicates white revolution in Madhya Pradesh.
