CM Chairs Informal Cabinet Meet

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met his ministerial colleagues at an informal meeting of the state cabinet on the outskirts of Bhopal on Saturday, on the agenda were issues significant in view of the forthcoming civic body elections.

While the meeting focused on the economy and the strengthening of the public distribution system (PDS), the implementation of the ‘Sanjha Chulha’ scheme also came up for discussion.

In a bid to free the PDS of irregularities, the cabinet decided that lists of below poverty line (BPL) beneficiaries would be prominently displayed outside every ration shop in the state.

The cabinet agreed to the formation of a three-member committee, under the chairmanship of Urban Administration and Development (UAD) Minister Babulal Gaur, to oversee regularization of illegal colonies in the state capital.

In the backdrop of a steep incline in expenses, Chouhan urged cabinet members to employ effective cost cutting measures to ensure that maximum impact of available funds could be concentrated on the development of the state.
