Buta Singh’s Son, Others Granted Bail in Bribery Case

A special CBI court on Thursday granted bail to NCSC Chairman and former Union Minister Buta Singh’s son Sarabjot and three others in a bribery case.

Special CBI judge SP Hayatnagarkar granted bail to Sarabjot Singh, Anup Degi, Madan Solanki and Dukh Singh Chauhan against a surety of Rs one lakh each.

The judge said CBI could conduct further investigations without having Sarabjot and others in custody and noted that a prolonged stay in jail could convert the accused into hardened criminals.

Sarabjot was arrested by the CBI on July 31 for allegedly demanding bribe of Rs one crore from a Nashik- based businessman.
