BJP ruled over in Kukshi and Sonkutch

BJP proved its status again in the state by wresting both Kukshi and Sonkutch Assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh. Congress lose in Kukshi and Sonkutch.

BJP workers applied all tactics at their command and ensured victory of their party men. But, the Congress men remained entangled in faction fighting. They failed to learn any lesson from the defeat suffered in civic bodies polls. Even the issue of suicides by farmers could not be taken effectively before the electorate.

Earlier, the Congress candidate Sajjan Singh Verma had defeated BJP candidate Phoolchand Verma by a small margin of 151 votes. In this byelection, the party has lost by nearly 12,000 votes.

In Kukshi Mukam Singh Kirode registered victory. He had lost Lok Sabha election. His wife Ranjana Singh Baghel is a minister in the State govt.
