AIIMS should become a guiding force for medical sector in country and abroad:CM
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Bhopal’s All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) should become a guiding force for medical sector and milestone in country and abroad in future. Shri Chouhan was addressing AIIMS foundation day function here today. He also gave away prizes to institute’s talented students in academic and sports fields.
The Chief Minister said that medical practice is not a profession, but a mission to save life. No service is greater than medical practice, which should be done in right earnest. He said that Bhopal’s AIIMS was a dream of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, which is being realised. AIIMS commands considerable credibility in medical sector. Remaining works of AIIMS will be completed soon. The institute will become pride of Bhopal. People from other countries will also come here for treatment. Referring to importance of research in medical sector, he said that students should work with dedication and devotion. Swami Vivekananda used to say that nothing is impossible in the world. Getting treatment facility is people’s fundamental right. For this, the state government has implemented a number of health schemes. Facility of free medicines and pathological tests has been provided in government hospitals.
Institute’s Director Prof. Sandeep Kumar presented its annual report and informed about available facilities. State BJP President Shri Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan, MP Shri Alok Sanjar, Director of AIIMS Patna Prof. Girish Kumar Singh and AIIMS Jodhpur’s Director Prof. Sanjeev Mishra were also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister also inspected AIIMS.
