Azmi Slap: Four MNS Lawmakers Suspended

November 9, 2009 Visionmp.com news service

Four Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) MLAs were suspended from the Mahrastra Assembly after they attacked Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi for taking his oath in Hindi on Monday. A privilege motion seeking the suspension was passed by Minister Harshvardhan Patil.

The motion was accepted and passed by the Speaker after which the four – Ram Kadam, Vasant Gite, Shishir Shinde and Ramesh Wanjale – were suspended for four years.

The suspended MLAs, all first-timers, have also been barred from entering Mumbai and Nagpur whenever the Assembly meets in the two cities.

The MLAs had attacked Azmi after he defied a diktat issued by MNS chief Raj Thackeray by taking the oath in Hindi, the national language.

Thackeray a few days ago had warned all MLAs to take oath in Marathi or face the infamous MNS ire.

Meanwhile, a visibly upset Azmi demanded the arrest of MNS chief Raj Thackeray.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan defended Abu Azmi saying, “The Constitution allows a member of the Assembly to take oath in any language.”

Political differences aside the Congress hailed the decision suspending the four MNS lawmakers.

Hindi is not the national language of India. Hindi can never become the national language without the South first seceding from the nation. Except for the violence it gives me great pleasure to see that the Marathas are pioneering in protecting linguistic and cultural orders. If Asim wants to rule the Maratha people he better know Marathi that’s what regional leaders are for. Else India could’ve ruled everyone from the center which is never a plausibility.

Hindi is not national language of India. Its a lie perpetuated for last 60 years. Nowhere in constitution is written so. Media should act more responsibly before making false claims like in the above news.
Jokers like lalu and mulayam shud focus on their states and better not talk about uphelding law and constitution considering their own pathetic records.
