Attack on IBN-Lokmat: Sunil Raul Remanded to Police Custody till Nov 27

In connection with attack on the office of Marathi news channel IBN-Lokmat, Sunil Raut, brother of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, has been remanded to police custody till November 27, said reports.

On Tuesday, he had surrendered before Parkside police station in suburban Vikhroli.

It may be mentioned that a group of Shiv Sainiks allegedly barged into and ransacked office of ‘IBN-Lokmat’ in suburban Mumbai and bashed up the staff members, blaming channel of running reports that depicted party chief Bal Thackeray in bad light.

Raut was booked as a main accused in this case for instigating the Sainiks.

Fourteen Shiv Sena activists, who were arrested earlier in the same case, were on Wednesday remanded to judicial custody. Three others who were in the hospital are already in judicial custody.
