Ajay named as the leader of opposition in MP

BHOPAL: On Wednesday Congress named Ajay Singh son of former HRD minister Arjun Singh as the Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.

Since September last year the post had been lying vacant due to the death of veteran Jamuna Devi but the party was unable to name her successor due to infighting.

The announcement comes within days of the appointment of Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria as the new PCC chief in place of Suresh Pachauri.

The party high command had sent a team to Bhopal to meet Congress legislators individually to know about their choice, it delayed taking the final call. Also it is believed that the recent death of Arjun Singh may have led the party finalise the name of Ajay Singh for the post.
