Rs 80 lakh seized, Hawala operators, Bhopal
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Police on Friday said it seized Rs 80 lakh, including in demonetised notes, from two Hawala perators here as it was being taken to Mumbai.
Acting on a tip-off, police caught the two with a bag full of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, Inspector Sudesh Tiwari told a news agency.
He said Dayanand and Harish revealed that the money belonged to some businesspersons in Bhopal and they were taking it to Mumbai on a commission of five to eight per cent.
Tiwari said the Income Tax Department has been informed about the seizure.
