ABVP Delegates Meet CM

Bhopal  — A delegation, comprising office-bearers of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) state unit called on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at his Vidhan Sabha chamber in the state capital on Tuesday.

The delegates, led by Parishad’s national secretaries Ashwini Pranjpay and Vishnudutt Sharma, handed over a memorandum, seeking direct elections to the various students’ unions and a rollback in the fee being charged by private institutions in the state.

Chief Minister assured the delegates that their demands would be looked into.

Earlier in the day, scores of ABVP activists clashed with the police during a rally organized to press for the demands.

Trouble erupted when the police attempted to prevent the activists from marching to the state assembly.
