25 Killed, 48 Injured as Bus Plunges into Gorge

In a major road mishap, at least 25 people were killed and 48 others injured when a bus skidded off Jammu-Katra Highway and fell into a deep gorge, some 40 kms from Jammu on Wednesday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Katra, Jugal Kishore said that the bus, which was on its way to Udhampur from Katra town, fell into the gorge after the driver lost control over the vehicle at 7.50 am.
He said that 25 people died on the spot and their bodies have been recovered by the police.
The injured have been admitted to Katra Hospital and Government Medical College Hospital here.
Most of the victims were locals including some government employees on way to their office in Udhampur
