At least 11 people have been killed and over 50 others injured as a powerful suicide bomb rocked the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore, reported Voice of America quoting police officials.

According to hospital officials, among dead are a woman and a child, said report.

The explosion left a large crater outside the Federal Investigation Agency, in which the main police investigation offices are housed, report said.

No group has so far claimed the responsibility for the attack, said report.

Officials, however, said that the explosion bore all the hallmarks of an operation by al-Qaida-backed Pakistani Taliban militants, report said.

Pakistan authorities say several other buildings were damaged in the blast.
